There may come a time when your pet needs more specialized care than we can provide at Punta Gorda Animal Hospital. We work closely with many board-certified specialists and can provide referrals as needed. We are fortunate to have access to high-quality referral specialists in our area, and we will coordinate with them to ensure the best care for your pet.

Surgery

Dr. Stanton: A board-certified veterinary surgeon who travels to Punta Gorda Animal Hospital to perform advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. She is also available for consultations.
Dr. Hay: A board-certified small animal surgeon with over 17 years of experience in veterinary medicine and surgery, based in Tampa, FL.

Neurology

Dr. Levine: DVM, DACVIM (Neurology) at Levine Neurology in Sarasota. Dr. Levine specializes in surgical treatments for intracranial and spinal cord tumors, spinal cord strokes, autoimmune conditions affecting the brain and spinal cord, decompressive disc surgeries, and advanced diagnostic imaging.
Dr. Kelley: DVM, DACVIM, Board Certified Neurologist at SCAN (Specialists in Companion Animal Neurology). Dr. Kelley has a passion for spinal surgery and medical neurology.
Dr. Carnes: MS, DVM, DAVCIM, Board Certified Neurologist, Neurosurgery Certificate, Medical Director at SCAN. Dr. Carnes specializes in neuro-oncologic surgeries, seizure management, Chiari-like malformation/syringomyelia, pain management, and non-invasive imaging procedures.

Dermatology

Dr. Burkett: A board-certified veterinary dermatologist at Animal Dermatology and Allergy.

Ophthalmology

Dr. Warren: A board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist.

Internal Medicine

Dr. Ward: A board-certified internist.
